SpywareBlaster and avast! Antivirus.?

Since they both have "active protection," would it be a bad idea to run both of these programs on the same computer? Also, I plan to install Spybot - Search %26 Destroy; if I do, I should disable TeaTimer (if SpywareBlaster is installed) right?

Thanks in advance!

SpywareBlaster and avast! Antivirus.?antivirus scan

Spybot S%26D and SpywareBlaster immunize against *some* of the same things, but each has many that the other doesn't. Therefore it is quite good to have the both. (See post #4 in this Spybot forum: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php... )

Also, neither Spybot's, nor SpywareBlaster's *immunization* is active in the way that Avast's real-time protection is. It is advisable and indeed I do run all three.

The Tea Timer function of Spybot is independent of everything already mentioned. It doesn't matter if you use any or all of the above in your decision to run the Tea Timer.

* And contrary to what the first answerer said, Spybot has absolutely *nothing* to do with virus scanning, so his reasoning for not running it concurrent with Avast is a moot point.
