In March I bought a new computer %26 added a DSL line. Less than 2 weeks later, I suspected I had a hacker. My brother, a computer geek, informed me that if the person really wanted in my computer I wasn't going to be able to stop them unless I spent a lot of money on an external firewall or router. I suspect a person I work with is doing it. So I have been going to specific sites %26 doing things to either piss them off or disgust them. They will say something eventually. I also contacted my ISP and was told to go online at a different site %26 fill out their abuse complaint form. I took my computer in to a place recommended by my brother %26 had a system scan, a copy of my hard drive made, %26 added more antivirus protection. I've been told by my ISP that if they can trace the person, because they used the phone line, they could be charged with federal wire tapping. I don't believe they're being malicious but they are invading my privacy. How can I catch them without filing charges?

I know that Norton Internet Securities had a program named Intrusion Prevention included with the suite. When I last used this program, it would tell me when someone was trying to gain access to my computer from the outside world. Not only did it tell me that someone was trying to gain access, but it would tell me what Public IP the person was coming from. Now this IP is probably in a range from their ISP but if you get the IP then look up the range at:
