HELP! I have a virus/trojan/proxy??

I accidentally downloaded something that said i needed active x updated to run it..after i downloaded it i uninstalled it...and before i know it i have all these popups and it looks like it attached to my nortin ant-virus protection thing and it keeps popping up ait says

"Malware threats, your computer is infected with a back door trojan that allows the remote attacker to perform various malicious actions."

I need to know how the hell to get this off ASAP...I am hoping there is some free download I can get. PLEASE HELP!

go to pctools.com get spyware doctor starter edition. its a free spyware scanner, can rid ur computer of crap. its free, and a good software. i have it.

The only thing that worked for me was using Spyware Doctor, and I took screenshots along the way to show how it works (link below). Lots of other people have had good results with this program as well.

I had 2 computers infected by Malware Alarm and found that neither Norton or McAfee were able to stop it, and was using both Internet Explorer and Firefox. One nice thing about SD is that it will let you scan your system for free, and will even clean some of the infections for free.

Go to Bitdefender.com download Bitdefender Free edition v10 it is avery powerful scanner including virus ,spyware,malware n rootkits
most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.
