Question for mac users......?

i use limewire but i've heard you could download a virus from that. but i've heard too that it is impossible for a mac to get a virus. then i hear something about firewall protection, which i know nothing about and i'm not sure if i have that. i'm totally confused, i just got my macbook 2 months ago and i don't know much about computers. i'm freaked out! so my question is how can i protect my computer from viruses, or do i not need worry since i have a mac? i hope i know if i get/have a virus, i already have 250 songs on my computer.

yes, there are very few viruses for OS X, but it's not "impossible" to get one. You should just dump limewire, it sucks anyway. Get utorrent and use torrent sites.

there are very very few virus that attacks macs. i don't think you need to worry about it too much. and you use limewire to download musics right? it's ok with musics, just avoid downloading softwares.
Macs get virus' just like any other computer. People just say that because there arent as many made for macs. Why code a virus for a computer no one uses.

If you have already downloaded 250 songs then you definitely have virii. Use programs like Adaware and Spybot SD.
You have an inbuilt firewall in your mac. This monitors what comes in and what goes to the internet. This helps detect dodgy files like trojans etc.

Mac's generally have less viruses than PC's because PC's are much more widespread. Mac's can still get viruses.

Don't use limewire. Pay for music and you won't get viruses.
