Help deleting programs!!!!!!!?

i have computer about 2 years old. it is getting really slow and freezes at every point. i want to get rid of some junk that i downloaded to make it faster but it wont let me. it says that the file is damaged. so now i cant delete them. i need help. it freezes alot and i have a hard time getting programs to start. please help. by the way what are some good virus protection programs. thanks alot

ok this might help u out

go to start, run and type %temp%

this will bring up all the tempory files that will slow down ur computer. On ur toolbar do edit select all , a window should come up on the left side, look for the delete option and delete those files. If it wont delete something click off the files and the n repeat select all and delete again, u might have to keep doing this till u get them all.

start by removeing anything you can under Control Panel %26gt; Add remove programs, if it has trouble, try reinstalling it then unistalling it.
