Should I (Norton)?

I currently have Norton 2006 Internet Suite with only 160 days of it left, should I uninstall it now and give it up for AVG/ZoneAlarm/etc and those other free firewalls?

I'm not trying to diss Norton just it slows down my computer(Only 1.5GB of RAM)...

Also I heard the other free firewalls were better then Norton.

(AVG Free + ZoneAlarm Free Firewall.)

Any advice would be good, but no protection that I have to pay 40$ and such crap for... But I am thinking of trying Kasperskys later in my life...

Thanks in advance.

Should I (Norton)?anti virus scan

i use win xp sp2 . the firewall seems ok

avast antivirus (used 8 yrs) with noadware and xsoftspy seem to do a good job protecting my system

ok i'll admit i have had some nasty ones ,and have had to reinstall windows . but on the whole these 4 products do a good job

norton is not the only thing that is slowing your system down

do a full system clean up cookies, temp and temporart internet files, history .and then defrag and scan you system with norton and any adware removal program you use.

you are infected or you are running out of space (your c: drive needs to have 20% free space to run properly)

Should I (Norton)?ariel

well you are rifgt . i also have norton and it makes the speed og mypc much slow.then i changed it to avg free and MCAfee. Mcafee is also good.you can Get a free trial from www,microsoft.com
WOW, with 1.5gb of RAM Norton's should not be slowing you down. You must be running lots of on line gaming ? If that is the case you can just shut it down while you play. But all in all Norton's is not a bad. I just changed to McAfee's it does not seem to interfere with my PC as much..And be care full with some of the fire wall's they can really make some of your computers functions a real pain. Good luck
combine those you mentioned with spybot, adaware and windows defender and you have better protection at a better price. They also take up a lot less room than that hog, norton.
