How Can I Rip A DVD Using Nero 7 Ultra Edition ?

I want to rip dvds to my computer and to iTunes so I can watch the concert on my iPod Classic, and I only have Nero 7 Ultra Edition to do so, but they tell me the dvd is copy protected.

How can I fix this problem? Is there anything that can break protection or something like that?

p.s.- the use of the ripped dvd is for personal use only.

Ripping DVDs even for personal use is supposedly "illegal" according to some copyright law, but I think its bogus so I recommend some software that is fairly cheap called AnyDVD. It will remove the copy protection from the DVD as it is being read. It runs as a background service. I have used it on movies from various studios using various copy protection and it works flawless. If you need something free, a google search can turn up a copy of "DVDShrink" which can rip a movie to a hard drive and strip its copy protection. You could then use that to convert it to iPod format. There is also Videora iPod Converter which is free that will work in conjunction with "DVD Decrypter." A link to the guide is posted below.

No you can't do that. Nero is primarily a CD and DVD burning software, but never a ripping software. For ripping DVD's you need a ripping software like DVD Shrink or Clone-DVD. Then you can use Nero to burn the ripped copy to a blank DVD-ROM.

Most of it has trial versions so you can try

before you buy. Hope this helps
