I have a WMV video file.
It's not a hooky one. It's not pirated.
It is a bought and paid for video clip. I paid to own the video and there is no time limit or expiry date with it.
I can watch it as many times as I want on my PC, but I want to put it on a DVD so I can watch it on my TV.
I tried loading it into Nero to create a video DVD, and I got a message telling me that the file has something called DRM protection, and that's preventing Nero from accessing the file.
It's important that I get this video onto a DVD, as I bought it for an elderly relative who doesn't own a computer and has no access to one.
Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?
How can I burn a DRM protected WMV video file onto a DVD that will play on my TV?matchless
DRM is Digital Rights Mangement and it appears that the right to burn the file have been used up ( you can only burn it so many times) however a possible solution is to use VLC.
Set up VLC to stream your video. Open another instance of VLC to recieve the stream your playing. As part of this process you will find that VLC can recieve and encode the video stream, therefore removing the DRM.
It should then be possible to burn the resulting file onto a DVD in the normal way.
It should work (crosses fingers lol)

As a further thought, it may be possible to use Super to reencode it.
