Can I stop people from formatting my extra hard drive.?

I just Installd a new SATA 200gb hard drive in my computer (As a data hard drive) I was wanting to know if there was a way that I can put a password so no one can delete my files from my hard drive. But would still allow people to view it. Some kinda protection software mabe I dont know, I just dont want to lose all my important files again..PLZ help..BIG TEN PTS 4 BEST ANSWER

Just make yourself Admin, set a password, and set everyone else to guest, so they can't edit files.
