Why does the comcast install wizard setup window disappear?

i got comcast installed on my computer and the techs were setting up the internet, but they said that the internet was down and would call me when it comes back up. i had to go out later that night so im not sure if any phone calls were made. when i came back home i tried to go to the comcast website which i was able to. it said that i had to setup my comcast account and so clicked on "i am a customer" which directed me to a download. i downloaded the comcast install wizard and ran it. it extracted the files, but once it was done a window quickly popped up and disappeared. it said to close all programs and turn off firewalls, virus protection, and popup blockers which i did and that didnt help. so right now i dont have internet to work with. can anybody help?

You do not need Comcast's software to connect to the internet. So I'm not sure what the problem may be. Best to reboot and see if it is working. Often after software installs the computer needs to be rebooted in order to complete the process. But this should have nothing to do with your ability to access the internet. Once you are connected to your modem, that should give you access to the internet.
