Hello,

I am alone in here and when i go through this situations, i really need a cold head to think for me. I went for vacations and my coleage thinks that my time was over and i lost them. i stop by my office to pick up my check. When i got in, she was so nervous and she was sitting in my computer, she checked a lot of my personal information. and i can not find i way if she print some of them. She got into my legal staff to find out what is going on with my visa. I tooked all this crap things for almost 2 years, now i got tired, and i will have a meeting with my boss. Can somebody tell me is there any legal protection for this.

Peace,

First, you should never keep personal information on a computer at work. You never know who uses your computer when you are out sick, vaction, or lunch. Second, you definitely need to report this to your boss, he may want you to provide proof that she accessed your personal files on the computer. Third, you should contact the VISA office and let them know what happened. Check your credit report diligently for the next six months to see if there is any unusual activity on it, is so, report it immediately. You may also want to contact the local police (only if you can prove she accessed the files) and file a report just in case something does come up in the near future. In the meantime, my suggestion is get your information off of the computer at work, load it on to a jump drive and carry it with you. If there is information you need then you will have access to it where ever you are. I would also consult with your human resources division to see if they have other options for you.
