Need help getting rid of Spyware/Virus????

Recently I have gotten a virus or something on my computer. Here is what it has done:

-Opens windows security alerts that say "Windows has detected an Internet attack attempt...Somebodyis trying to infect your PC with spyware or harmful viruses. Run full system scan now to protect your PC from Internet attacks, hijacking attempts and spyware! Click here to download spyware remover for total protection."

-My background has been changed to a blue screen with yellow writing that says my computer has several fatal errors due to spyware activity

-I have new icons in my desktop that are-- "Spyware%26...Protection", "Error Cleaner", and "Privacy Protector".

I need big time help.
